How to eat Pickled Herring by Lisa Elmqvist

Swedish delicacies are hard to find outside of Sweden

But if you feel having some cinnamon rolls – Swedish style with your Fika-time today… and want to carry the Swedish tradition of eating Herring – even though the weather is a little chilly and it’s not the ‘normal’ thing to do… oh faux pas, here is a delicious and totally simple recipe from Lisa Elmqvist

Pickled herring with browned butter, chopped egg, grass and red onion.

Per person:

2 fillets pickled herring

50 g butter

1 boiled egg

1/4 onion

1 bunch of chives

1 sprig of dill

How to use:

1. Add the 2 fillets pickled herring.

2. Chop the onions, eggs and chives. Brown the butter in the pan until golden browned.

3. Add the onions, eggs and chives and garnish with a sprig of dill and browned butter.
